Great easy hike. Cool little spot to explore. Watch oit foe the wasp hive on the bridge! There is a little path near the water to the right of the bridge where you can cross.
Very peaceful, grounds are well maintained. There is a letter box inside the house that you write your name with a saying or whatever you would want to write in it. Not a very long walk from where you park your vehicles. Trails are marked..
We will come back I highly recommend this video easy walk....
Like many before you, you have likely come to see Madame Sherri's former castle in the woods. My experience was one of peace, curiosity, wonder, and imagination. The remnants intrigued me to imagine the construction of such a unique property, and the memories that were made there. Enjoy your visit, and leave no trace!
Also, there is a wonderful network of trails nearby. Ann Stokes Loop took about an hour and yielded some amazing views of the surrounding mountains and ponds. The trail was a great mix of challenging and moderate. The woods there are wild, yet serene.
Fun stop we made on a recent road trip through New England. There’s a small lot and a very short walk to the ruins of Madame Sherri’s Castle. One of the arches had fallen recently so there are only two left. Still impressive and during fall and spring I think it’s magical. It’s roped off but it doesn’t seem to stop people from climbing it, so don’t expect it to last much longer. There’s stairs that go to the top that are open to climb and if you walk around the back side you can access the lower level. Hiking around the general vicinity there’s some other stone structure and fences. There’s also a longer loop trail that you could explore more. If you could find a time without other people and nice lighting could be a photographers dream.
Easy walk to the ruins, beautiful area, one nearby trail heading further up the mountain was blocked repeatedly by snapped off trees, but the area around the ruins was clear.
Beautiful trails for most ability levels. Short and long hike options. Great all year round. The ruins of Madame Sherrie's House are great and the longer trails are not to be missed.
My wife and I did the Ann Stokes loop and found it beautiful. But consider that the trail has substantial rocky climbing and descent. There is only one valley view on this loop but it was beautiful in October. We are fairly experienced hikers and consider this loop moderate with a few rocky difficult moments.
Amazing place! So peaceful and quiet with so much green around.
Please note that the road can be moody is it’s raining.
